NCU computers

IT sends updates to NCU computers automatically. When you're asked to restart, do it as soon as you can, since many updates don't finish until you restart.

Your own computer

Windows

Select Start, then Settings, then Windows Update, then Check for updates.

Mac

Select the Apple menu, then System Settings, then General, then Software Update.

Your web browser

Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari update themselves, but only finish when you close and reopen them. To check:

Browser
Where to check
Microsoft Edge
Settings and more (…), then Settings, then About Microsoft Edge
Google Chrome
More (⋮), then Help, then About Google Chrome
Firefox
Menu (☰), then Help, then About Firefox
Safari
Updates with macOS through Software Update

Restarting your computer at least once a week keeps updates from piling up.
