Summary

Learn what to do with an old, broken, or unneeded NCU computer or device: recycle it through IT, have it moved, or return it. Never throw away, sell, or keep NCU equipment.

Body

Have an old, broken, or extra NCU computer, monitor, or other device? Here's what to do with it.

Never throw away, sell, donate, or keep NCU equipment

Even an old or broken device can still have NCU data on it. All university-owned equipment goes back through the Office of Innovation & Technology.

You need to
Do this
Get rid of an old or broken computer, laptop, monitor, printer, keyboard, or other device
Request Technology Recycling and Media Destruction. IT wipes or destroys the drive so no data is left, and recycles the device responsibly.
Move your computer to a new office
Request Relocate or Pick up Technology at least 5 business days ahead. Requests come from an associate director or above. Furniture moves go to Facilities Management.
Return something you borrowed from IT
Bring it to the IT Service Desk in Miller Hall 226. See Technology Loans for University Employees.

Recycling is only for university-owned devices. For help with your own equipment, see Help with Your Personal Device.
