Overview

When users are experiencing printer issues on a Windows computer, re-installing their printer drivers is a good troubleshooting step to try.

Step 1: Remove Printer Driver

  1. Click on the Start Menu
  2. In the Search Box, enter and open regedit
  3. Windows will ask you for administrator permissions
  4. Click Yes
  5. In the left pane navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CURRENTCONTROLSET/CONTROL/PRINT/ENVIRONMENTS
  6. Delete the desired Print Driver

Step 2: Restart Print Spooler

  1. Click on the Start Menu
  2. In the Search Box, enter and open Computer Management
  3. Click Services
  4. Right click on Print Spooler
  5. Click Restart
