Starfish is North Central’s student success and alert platform. Starfish gives faculty and staff a convenient way to keep track of students they are connected to by raising flags when there are concerns, ensuring that the people on campus who can intervene are aware, and referring students to support services that can help such as tutoring, disability services, etc.  Starfish also provides a network of support where both students and faculty can see all the various people across campus connected to a student such as an RD, Athletic Coach, Academic Advisor, etc. Starfish provides an online scheduling option for students to easily book an appointment with support services on campus as well.

Issues to contact IT about: If the Starfish platform is down and you are no longer able to log-in. (Keep in mind if you are not teaching a class in a given semester and do not have an Advisor role or Service Department role you will not have access to Starfish.)

Contact the Starfish Admin in the Student Success Center if:

  • You need access to Starfish and are not currently assigned a role.
  • You are not able to see the group of students you think you should be able to see.
  • You have questions about any of the flags, kudos, referrals, and/or To-Do items.
  • You have questions about the student information available to view
