Body

Learn how to allow pop-ups for NCU sites like Skyline, Canvas, and Self-Service, and how to use a private window to figure out why a site isn't working.

Allow pop-ups for a site

Quickest way: when your browser blocks a pop-up, look for a small blocked-pop-up icon at the right end of the address bar. Select it, choose Always allow, and reload the page.

Browser
Or set it in settings
Microsoft Edge
Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Pop-ups and redirects > Allow > Add
Google Chrome
Settings > Privacy and security > Site settings > Pop-ups and redirects > Allowed to send pop-ups > Add
Safari (Mac)
Safari > Settings > Websites > Pop-up Windows, then set the site to Allow

Add the site you're having trouble with, like skyline.northcentral.edu or ncumn.instructure.com.

Test in a private window

A private window opens without your saved cookies and extensions. If a site works there but not in a regular window, clearing your cache usually fixes it.

Browser
Open a private window
Microsoft Edge
Ctrl + Shift + N (InPrivate)
Google Chrome
Ctrl + Shift + N (Incognito). Command + Shift + N on Mac
Safari (Mac)
Command + Shift + N
Firefox
Ctrl + Shift + P. Command + Shift + P on Mac
