"You Don't Have Permission" When Opening a Microsoft Form

Opened a Microsoft Forms link and got a message that you don't have permission or can't respond? It's usually about which account you're signed in with. Here's how to fix it.

Common causes

Cause
Fix
You're signed in with a personal Microsoft account
Sign out of the personal account, or open the link in a private window and sign in with your NCU account.
The form is only open to NCU accounts
Sign in with your North Central University account. People outside NCU can't respond to these forms.
The form is only open to certain people
Ask the person who sent the form to add you.
The form is closed
The owner stopped accepting responses. Contact them if you still need to respond.

Using more than one account in the same browser? A separate browser profile for NCU keeps them apart. See Use Browser Profiles to Separate NCU and Personal Accounts.

Sent the form yourself?

In the form, select Collect responses to check who can respond. See Overview: Using Microsoft Forms.
