JAMF Self Service software installation for macOS devices

Overview

Faculty and staff that use university-owned Mac laptops and desktops must use Self Service to install approved software applications on their device. Self Service contains many useful applications, scripts, fixes, or other helpful things for your mac. You can use Self Service to install applications, run scripts to fix things such as wifi, or look at information on your computer. 

Self Service Interface

  1. Search Box
    • Use this to search for specific applications or fixes.
  2.  Activity
    • View what has been installed or what is currently running
  3. Login
    • Use this button to log in to your NCU account and see specific applications for you or your department.
  4. Notification
    • If there is an error or notification with an installation, it will appear here.
  5. Categories
    • Sort the list of applications by specific categories.
  6. Application
    • Each application has its own box. You can click on the box to show more information from the application.
  7. Run button
    • This button will run the script, application, or item.
  8. Sort
    • Choose how you want to sort the items in the list.

Using Self Service

  1. Open the Self Service application - Either from the dock or by clicking Go from the Apple menu bar and open Applications

  1. Click Login in the top right, and login with your NCU credentials.
  2. Scroll through the lists of apps, or search for an application using the Search Box in the upper-left.
  3. When you find the item you wish to run, select the designated button underneath it.

Request Software for Self Service

If the software that you want to install is not available on Self Service, please submit a service request.  IT will investigate whether the software can be added to and supported through Self Service.
