Body

Learn how to share a file in a Microsoft Teams chat, and where the file is stored after you send it.

1

Open the chat

Go to the one-on-one or group chat.

2

Attach the file

Select Attach (the paperclip) and choose a file from OneDrive or your computer.

3

Send

Everyone in the chat can open and edit it.

The file stays in your OneDrive

Files you share in a chat are saved in your OneDrive, in a folder named Microsoft Teams Chat Files. If you leave NCU or delete the file, everyone loses access. For department files, post them in a team channel instead. See Files @ NCU for Employees.
