Body

Added a shortcut to a Teams or SharePoint folder and can't find it? Learn where shortcuts show up, how to clean out ones you don't need, and how to add one on purpose.

Where your shortcuts are

Shortcuts go into a Shortcuts folder inside your OneDrive. That's one level deeper than they used to be, so if you're used to seeing them right in OneDrive, look one folder down.

Where

  • Shortcut folders have a small link badge on the icon.
  • A new shortcut can take a few minutes to show up. It appears on every computer you're signed in to OneDrive on.

Remove shortcuts you don't need

1

Open your shortcuts

In OneDrive on the web, go to My files > Shortcuts.

2

Remove it

Select the shortcut and choose Remove shortcut.

This only takes it out of your OneDrive. The team's files stay where they are, and you can still open them in Teams.

Add a shortcut

1

Open the channel

In Teams, open the channel and select the Shared tab (called Files in some versions).

2

Open the folder

Go to the folder you want.

3

Add the shortcut

Select Add shortcut to OneDrive. Don't see it? Check the … menu, or select Open in SharePoint and add it from there.

Shortcuts work for folders, not single files.
