Remember to Sign Out: Why Closing the Browser Isn't Enough

Summary

Closing a browser window doesn't always sign you out of your NCU account. Learn how to sign out properly on shared and public computers and keep your account safe.

Body

Closing a browser window or tab doesn't always sign you out of your North Central University account. On a shared or public computer, the next person could get into your email, files, or Canvas.

On shared or public computers

1

Sign out of each site

In Outlook, Canvas, and other NCU sites, select your profile picture or name, then Sign out.

2

Close every browser window

Close all windows, not just the tab you used.

3

Sign out of the computer

If you signed in to the computer itself, sign out of it too.

Using a computer that isn't yours? Open a private window first, and select No when asked to stay signed in. See How To: Allow Pop-Ups and Use a Private Window to Troubleshoot.
