How To: Delete or Edit Saved Passwords in Keychain Access (Mac)

Your Mac saves passwords in Keychain Access. If a saved password is out of date, like after you change your NCU password, you can delete or edit it.

Open Keychain Access

1

Search for it

Press Command + Space to open Spotlight.

2

Open it

Type Keychain Access and press Return.

Delete a saved password

1

Choose the login keychain

Select login in the sidebar. If it's locked, select the lock and enter your Mac password.

2

Find the entry

Search at the top right, for example northcentral.

3

Delete it

Control-click the entry, select Delete, then confirm.

Edit a saved password

1

Open the entry

Double-click the entry.

2

Show the password

Check Show password and enter your Mac password if asked.

3

Save

Change the password, then select Save Changes.

iCloud passwords: on macOS Sequoia or later, manage passwords synced with iCloud in the Passwords app. On older versions, select iCloud in the Keychain Access sidebar and delete the same way.
