Authorized TouchNet User Locked Out

Overview

We may get calls from students, parents, or Student Financial Services about a parent/authorized account that has been locked out. These accounts are hosted within TouchNet and not within our system, so we are unable to unlock these accounts. This article will state what to do in these cases.

TouchNet Accounts

Parents can be authorized to log into Students accounts to view balances and/or pay bills. These accounts only show financial information and is not access to the students NCU Account. These types of accounts are set up and hosted within TouchNet, which is the system we use to process payments and bills for the university. IT does not have access to view, manage, or unlock these accounts. The parents/authorized user will need to work with Student Financial Services, who can assist them in working with TouchNet to regain access to their account. If someone from Student Financial Services contacts us regarding this, please remind them that IT does not have access to the TouchNet account, and direct them back to TouchNet.

Example Email:

NCU IT does not provision accounts for parents. So if this is something that was provisioned in Touchnet, she may need to contact touchnet about this resetting her password, if we don't have access to reset passwords ourselves. IT does not have access to any TouchNet Accounts.

REMINDER:

Due to FERPA laws, we are not allowed to provide any information on a student account to a parent or authorized user. If you get asked question pertaining to a student's information, please refer the parent/authorized user/caller to the Registrar office.
