How do I schedule a delayed email in Outlook?

Overview

The Delay Delivery feature in Outlook allows for the scheduling or delayed sending of emails.

Setting up a Delayed Email

  1. In the message window, select the Options tab.

  1. Choose Delay Delivery in the More Options group.

  1. Under the Delay Delivery options, select the Do not deliver before check box, and then select the delivery date and time that you want.
  2. To keep a copy of the message in the Sent Items folder, make sure to check Save copy of sent message.
  3. Click Close and then Send.

Changed your mind? Send the delayed email immediately

  1. In the folder pane in Mail view, go into the Outbox folder.

  1. Open the delayed message and click the Options tab.
  2. Click Delay Delivery in the More Options group.

  1. Under Delivery options, clear the Do not deliver before check box.
  2. Click Close and then Send.
