How To: Add a Task to a Ticket in TDX

Summary

Learn how to add a task to a TDX ticket so a piece of the work can be assigned and tracked separately.

Body

Learn how to break a ticket into tasks, so different people can each own a piece of the work.

Each office's ticket application is set up separately, so menu names can be a little different from what you see here.

1

Open the ticket

Find the ticket and open it.

2

Add a task

Select Add, then Task.

3

Describe it

Enter a Title and Description. Set a Due Date if it matters.

4

Assign it

Under Responsible, choose who will do it. Leave Notify Responsible checked so they get an email.

5

Save

Select Save. The task shows on the ticket's Tasks/Activities tab.

Use Predecessor when one task can't start until another is done. If your office uses the same set of tasks often, ask about a task template.

Tasks assigned to you also appear when you look for your tickets. See How To: Find Your Tickets in TDX.
