IT supports the deployment of HP printers and Canon copiers at the university. If you need to purchase an HP printer, please fill out the Technology/Accessory Purchase Request, as those requests are not handled via this service.
The university maintains a fleet of copiers for copier general print, scanning, and copier purposes. University departments are expected to utilize these devices for all printing, scanning, and copying needs. In the event that a copier is not within reasonable distance to an office, the office may elect to work with IT to purchase a dedicated printer for the space. Likewise, if the university has a unique and specialized printing need, a dedicated device may also be purchased.
IMPORTANT: HP printers are purchased through IT, with the funding coming from the requesting department. After purchase, the HP printer officially enters the university printer fleet (does not explicitly belong to any one department.) If the requesting office no longer needs the HP printer (e.g. the office was moved or a Canon was moved nearby), the printer is reclaimed by IT and may be allocated according to university printing needs.

Printing services provided by IT
Some offices have specialized HP printers in addition to the use of a Canon copier. Typically, this requires that the university have a unique requirement for the additional printer and/or that a Canon copier is not in close proximity to the office.
