Hold Mail

Service Description

Going on an internship? Study abroad? Extended travel? Hold Mail service keeps all your mail and packages secure at the Mailcenter until you return. Set your dates and we'll automatically resume normal delivery when you're back.

Who Can Use This Service

  • Students on study abroad programs
  • Students with internships away from campus
  • Faculty/staff on extended leave or travel
  • Anyone temporarily away but maintaining campus mailbox

What's Included

  • Secure holding of all mail and packages
  • No size or quantity limits during hold period
  • Your mailbox remains assigned to you
  • Automatic delivery resumption on your specified date
  • Email confirmation of hold dates

Important Information

You must specify both dates: We need your hold start date AND end date. Delivery automatically resumes on your end date.

Package notifications continue: You'll still receive package notification emails, but packages will be held until your return date.

Plans change? Submit a new request with updated dates. We can adjust hold periods with proper notice.

How to Request

Submit a Hold Mail Request with:

  • Your name and student/employee ID
  • Hold start date
  • Hold end date (required)
  • Reason for hold (helps us serve you better)
  • Emergency contact (optional but recommended)

Timeline

  • Begins on your specified start date
  • Ends automatically on your specified end date
  • Can be modified with new request

When You Return

  • Check your mailbox for accumulated mail
  • Pick up any held packages from office
  • Review package notification emails
  • Normal delivery resumes automatically
