Service Description
Lost your mailbox key? Don't panic - we can create a replacement. For security reasons, the Mailcenter Manager personally handles all key replacements. Your new key will have a different number than the old one, and we'll deactivate the lost key in our system.
Who Can Use This Service
- Students who have lost their mailbox key
- Students with damaged/broken keys
- Students with keys that no longer work properly
What's Included
- New key creation by Mailcenter Manager
- Deactivation of old key number for security
- Key that opens both mailbox and package lockers
- New manila envelope with box number reminder
- Receipt for payment
Important Information
$10 replacement fee required: University policy requires this non-refundable fee. Payment accepted via cash or card (Square) at pickup.
Report immediately: The sooner you report a lost key, the better we can protect your mailbox security.
Old key no longer works: Once reported lost, your old key is deactivated and won't open your mailbox even if found later.
How to Request
Submit a Lost Key Replacement Request with:
- Your full name
- Student ID
- Mailbox number (if known)
- When/where key was lost (if known)
Timeline
- Processing: 24-48 hours
- Email notification when ready
- Pick up during business hours with $10 payment
Preventing Future Loss
- Keep key on same ring as dorm key
- Use a lanyard or distinctive keychain
- Have designated spot in your room
- Take photo of key number for records
