How To: Find, Join, or See Who's in a Team

Need to know who's in a team, or want to join one? Here's how in Microsoft Teams at North Central University.

See a team's members and owners

1

Find the team

In Teams, select Teams and find the team.

2

Open the member list

Select More options (…) next to the team name, then Manage team and the Members tab. Owners are labeled Owner.

Join a team

Team type
How to join
Public
In Teams, select Join or create a team (the + button at the top of your teams list), search for the team, and select Join.
Private
You can't search for it. Ask one of the team's owners to add you.
Have a join code
Select Join or create a team, then Join a team with a code.

Not sure who owns a private team? Ask the department or person who runs it. IT doesn't add people to teams they don't own.

Can't find a team you were added to?

It may be hidden. At the bottom of your teams list, open Hidden teams, select More options (…) next to the team, then Show.

Want out of a team? See How To: Leave a Team or Group Chat in Teams. Team owners can add or remove people. See How To: Add or Remove Team Members.
