In July 2026, North Central University moved student email and files from Google (Gmail and Google Drive) to Microsoft 365 (Outlook and OneDrive). This article is a record of what changed and what it means for you now.
The migration is complete. For how to use Outlook today, see Outlook at NCU.

Google Photos, Keep, YouTube, and other services tied to your NCU Google account ended July 16.

“Sign in with Google” no longer works
Your NCU address can no longer be used with “Sign in with Google” on other websites. If you can't get into a site you used that way, use the site's password reset. Reset emails go to the same address, now in Outlook. Consider switching those accounts to a personal email.
Student employees
If you also have an employee account (like jdsmith@northcentral.edu), that account didn't change. You now have two separate Outlook mailboxes, one for each account.
Why NCU made the change
- Everyone at NCU now uses the same email, calendar, and file tools, which makes scheduling and collaboration easier.
- NCU email no longer lands in students' Gmail spam folders.
- Microsoft 365 adds stronger security and data protection for university email and files.
