Microsoft Visio at NCU: How To Request a License

Need Microsoft Visio to create or edit diagrams? Visio isn't part of the standard North Central University Microsoft 365 license. NCU keeps a small number of Visio Plan 2 licenses that are assigned on request.

View Visio files

Anyone can open and view them in a browser. No license needed.

Create or edit

Request a Visio license

1

Submit a request

Use Software Purchasing and Licensing and ask for a Visio Plan 2 license. Include who needs it and what it's for.

2

Wait for it to be assigned

Licenses are limited, so IT assigns them based on need.

3

Watch for an update

IT will follow up through your request once a license is assigned to you.

Just need a quick diagram? Try Whiteboard, PowerPoint, or Microsoft Planner for task flows first. They're included with your NCU account.

Need project management?

Microsoft Project isn't available. For tracking team tasks, see How To: Track Team Tasks with Microsoft Planner.

Problem with Visio?

Already have a license and Visio isn't working? Submit a request through Visio.
