How To: Find Files Shared with You and Save Your Own Copy

Learn where to find files people have shared with you, and how to save your own copy of anything you'll need later.

Find files shared with you

Where
How
OneDrive on the web
Go to office.com, open OneDrive, and select Shared > With you.
Teams
Select OneDrive on the left side of Teams, then Shared.
Search
Use the search box at the top of OneDrive or Office.com and type part of the file name or the person's name.

Shared files aren't yours

A file someone shared lives in their OneDrive. If they delete it, stop sharing it, or leave NCU, you lose access. Save your own copy of anything you need.

Save your own copy

1

Find the file

Open Shared > With you in OneDrive.

2

Copy it

Select the file, then Copy to, and choose a folder in My files. Or open it and select File > Save a copy.

Working on it together? Don't make a copy. Edit the shared file so everyone stays on the same version.
