Feel like Microsoft Authenticator asks you to approve a sign-in all the time? You're not alone, and we get it. Here's why it happens and a few things you can do to see fewer prompts with your North Central University account.
Microsoft decides when to ask. It looks at things like your device, browser, location, and recent sign-in activity, and sometimes asks again even when nothing seems different. IT can't change how often it asks.
Why it's worth it
Each prompt is the step that stops someone who has your password. Without your phone, they can't get in.

Why it helps

Select Yes at Stay signed in?
On your own device, this keeps you signed in longer. Select No on shared or public computers.
Don't use private or incognito windows for NCU
Private windows forget your sign-in as soon as you close them.
Let your browser keep cookies
If your browser clears cookies when it closes, it also clears your sign-in.

Stick to one browser

Update your password everywhere after you change it

Make approving faster
- Open the Authenticator app directly if the notification doesn't show up. The request is usually waiting there.
- Type the two-digit number from your sign-in screen into Authenticator.
- More tips: MFA: Frequently Asked Questions.
Not signing in? Don't approve it.
