Overview
Office 365 is more than just a way to check your email online, Office 365 is a service that offers access to the most recent web version of Microsoft Office, as well as other Microsoft applications. See the list below for a list of what Office 365 includes and also a brief description of each app.
Office 365 apps
Outlook
Word/PowerPoint/Excel/OneNote
- Students and teachers are eligible for Office 365 Education, which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, and now Microsoft Teams, plus additional classroom tools. All you need to get started is a valid school email address.
Calendar
- Add meeting, appointments, and other events to your calendar in Outlook Web App and track and share with others. Your calendar in Outlook Web App lets you create and track appointments and meetings. You can create multiple calendars, link to other people’s calendars, and even share your calendar with other people in your organization.
Class Notebook
- OneNote Class Notebooks have a personal workspace for every student, a content library for handouts, and a collaboration space for lessons and creative activities.
Delve
- Delve allows Office 365 users to search and manage their emails, meetings, contacts, social networks and documents stored on OneDrive or Sites in Office 365. Delve uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to try to show the most relevant people and content.
Dynamics 365
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a cloud based service that provides a set of intelligent applications that seamlessly work together — unifying the capabilities of CRM business software and ERP systems.
Flow
- Flow is a service that helps you create automated workflows between your favorite apps and services to synchronize files, get notifications, collect data, and more.
Forms
- Microsoft Forms is a new part of Office 365 Education that allows teachers and students to quickly and easily create custom quizzes, surveys, questionnaires, registrations and more. When you create a form, you can invite others to respond to it using any web browser, even on mobile devices.
Newsfeed
- Team sites and other kinds of SharePoint sites come with the SharePoint Newsfeed, which is a lot like a public blog or a microblog. You can use the SharePoint Newsfeed to start a conversation with people and to stay current with things other people post and share.
OneDrive
- OneDrive is a Microsoft cloud storage service that lets you store your personal files in one place, share them with others, and get to them from any device connected to the Internet.
People
- In Outlook on the web, you use the People page to view, create, edit, find, and delete contacts. You can use your contacts for your own reference, and you can automatically add them as recipients when you compose an email message
Planner
- A planning application available on the Microsoft Office 365 platform Tasks
PowerApps
- PowerApps is a service that lets you build business apps that run in a browser or on a phone or tablet, and no coding experience is required. PowerApps combines visual drag-and-drop concepts from PowerPoint with Excel-like expressions for logic and working with data.
SharePoint
- SharePoint is used by organizations to create websites. You can use SharePoint as a secure place to store, organize, share, and access information from almost any device. All you need is a web browser.
Staff Notebook
- The OneNote Staff Notebook Creator for Education is an app for SharePoint Online that helps you set up a OneNote notebook for your staff members
StaffHub
- Microsoft StaffHub is a cloud-based platform that slips work (and the tools to manage it) into everyone’s back pocket. With Microsoft StaffHub, firstline workers can view schedules, swap shifts, and request time off.
Stream
- Microsoft Stream is a secure hub for teams to create, share and manage videos. Enhance productivity and user engagement with features that that makes content distribution and consumption easy and intuitive. And through the integration of Microsoft products, Microsoft Stream increases collaboration by leveraging video to create and share content within the collaboration applications you rely on every day.
Sway
- Sway is an easy-to-use digital storytelling app for creating interactive reports, presentations, personal stories and more. Its built-in design engine helps you create professional designs in minutes.
Tasks
- Use your Tasks folder to keep track of things that you need to do but don’t necessarily want to put on your calendar.
Teams
- Microsoft Teams is a chat-based collaboration tool that is part of the Office 365 suite of services. Teams enables local and remote co-workers to work together in real and near-real time. It provides customizable workspaces and guest access to facilitate business-to-business (B2B) project management.
To-do
- Microsoft To-Do Preview is your first look at the new intelligent to-do list from the Wunderlist team. With My Day and Suggestions, Microsoft To-Do is a smarter, more personal app with an Outlook Tasks integration.
Video
- Office 365 Video will be replaced by Microsoft Stream.
Yammer
- A freemium enterprise social networking service used for private communication within organizations.
