Faxing at NCU

North Central University utilizes a service that allows employees to send faxes and receive faxes through university e-mail accounts.

Overview

NCU has implemented a centralized faxing system  (etherFAX) to replace the individual fax machines across campus.  This new faxing system provides the following features:

  • Faxes can be sent directly from applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat; there is no need to print a document to paper in order to fax it.
  • Inbound faxes arrive in an electronic format.  There is no need to scan paper faxes at a fax machine in order to file them electronically.
  • Better security and privacy – no more centrally located fax machine where faxes can be read by anyone walking by.
  • No more expenditures for paper, toner, or replacement of failing fax machines.  No more charges for long distance fax calls.
