How To: Undo "Allow My Organization to Manage My Device" on a Personal Computer

Signed in to Office or Teams on your own Windows computer and left "Allow my organization to manage my device" checked? That connects your whole computer to your North Central University account, not just the app. Here's how to undo it and sign in to the app only.

Personal computers only

Don't do this on an NCU-owned computer. IT sets those up and manages them. See What Device Management Means for You.

Disconnect your NCU account from Windows

1

Save your work

Close Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and other Office apps.

2

Open Access work or school

Go to Settings > Accounts > Access work or school.

3

Disconnect

Select your NCU account (yourname@northcentral.edu), then select Disconnect and confirm.

4

Restart

Restart your computer.

Sign back in to the app only

1

Open an Office app

Open Word or Outlook and sign in with your NCU account.

2

Uncheck the box

When you see Stay signed in to all your apps, clear the Allow my organization to manage my device check box.

3

Choose this app only

Select No, sign in to this app only.

Your email and files aren't affected. They stay in your NCU account in the cloud.
