Locked Out After Changing Your Password

Changed your NCU password and now your account keeps locking? It's almost always a device still trying your old password. Here's how to find it and stop it.

Right after you change your password

Update every device and app that signs in with your NCU account, especially these:

Check
What to do
NCU-Secure Wi-Fi on every device
Forget NCU-Secure and reconnect with your new password: laptop, phone, tablet, and anything else. See How To: Forget a Wi-Fi Network and Reconnect.
Email on your phone
Open the Outlook app or Mail app and sign in again when asked.
Teams, OneDrive, and Office apps
Sign in again when they ask. Do it on every computer you use.
Mac Keychain
If your Mac keeps asking, open Keychain Access, search for NCU or Office, and delete old saved entries.
Old devices
An old phone or tablet in a drawer can still be on Wi-Fi trying your old password. Turn it off or update it.

If you're already locked out

  • A lockout clears on its own after a short time. Wait, then sign in with your new password.
  • If it keeps happening, something is still using your old password. Go through the list above again.
