Mobile Print Printed My Email Signature Instead of My Document

Emailed a file to mobileprint@northcentral.edu and the printer gave you your email signature, a logo, or extra pages instead of your document? Images in your email signature can sometimes print in place of your file. Here's how to send a clean print job.

Why it happens

Mobile print skips small images, so most signature logos and icons don't print. But a large signature image, or one that loads from a web link instead of being part of the email, can print anyway, sometimes instead of your document.

Send a clean print job

1

Start a new email

Address it to mobileprint@northcentral.edu.

2

Delete your signature

Select your signature in the message body and delete it, including any logo or images. Leave the subject and body empty.

3

Attach only what you want printed

Attach the file. Mobile print only accepts Microsoft Office documents and PDFs. Save anything else as a PDF first. See How To: Save a File as a PDF.

4

Send and release

Send the email, then release the job at a campus Canon printer.

Already have extra jobs in your queue? At the printer, select only your document and delete the others instead of printing everything.

Print from mobile often?

Set up a second signature with no images, or turn off your automatic signature for new messages, so you don't have to delete it each time. See How To: Create Your NCU Email Signature.
