Welcome to North Central University!
As a new employee, you'll need to access several online systems to perform different tasks and get important information. Here are a few of the common questions that new members of the North Central University community may need.

Your NCU account
Your NCU account is your key to access various sites, devices, services, and platform at NCU. If you have not already done so, please work with your supervisor/department head to get access to your account and the correct permissions granted.
Intro to NCU systems
- ADP: Access your employee information, timecards, pay stubs, vacation/time off information, and more.
- Akademos: University bookstore platform.
- Catertrax: Catering orders for events/meetings.
- Classy: Giving and advancement event platform.
- Colleague & Colleague Self-Service:Colleague is the university ERP system. University accounting, budget management, student information system, course registration system, and more.
- eRezLife: Residence life & housing managment platform.
- gatherNCU: Official platform for university room reservations and event request. Powered by AdAstra.
- Informer: Official university reporting platform.
- Moodle: Our learning management system for course content. Please note that the university is transitioning to Canvas in December of 2022.
- Outlook: Official employee e-mail/calendar platform.
- Teams: Official platform for video calling, voice calling, collaboration, and file management/sharing.
- Skyline: Unversity news & portal.
- Salesforce: Admissions platform. Coming soon: Salesforce Student Success Hub (will replace Starfish and provide additional services to students, faculty, and staff.
- Starfish: Retention, advising, and flagging platform.
- TeamDynamix (TDX): Service management, project management, asset management, and ticketing for various departments.
- uniFLOW: Printing is managmed by uniFLOW.
- Virtuous: Donor relationship management platform.
Your NCU computer
Generally, each employee is assigned a single device for each FT/PT employee. Typically, adjuncts are not assigned a device, but IT does maintain a loaner fleet of devices for employee use in the event that one is needed for on-campus use.
Work with your department head or director to identify which type of device will best work for you. Once identified, your department head/director will submit a request for deployment.
NCU IT offers standard configurations for laptops and desktops. NOTE: Faculty only have the choice of Windows or Mac laptop.

E-mail & Office 365
NCU utilizes Microsoft Office for employee e-mail and document production. Microsoft Office is deployed to every NCU-owned device.
Web access to Office 365
Office 365 can also be accessed from any web browser! Visit https://portal.office.com to access Office 365 from anywhere.
Mobile access to e-mail/calendar
NCU strongly encourages all users to utilize the Outlook App for mobile access to E-mail/Calendar.
Teams & files
Teams is the official & required video conferencing, chat, collaboration, calling, and file system for the university. University departments are required to store files within Teams and all university virtual meetings are required to use Teams. University files must not be stored locally on your computer or on other unapproved cloud services.
Calling & voicemail

NOTE; The university is transitioning from our legacy phone system to Microsoft Teams for voice services. Be on the lookout for announcements as the university transitions to Microsoft Teams for calling.
General software & applications
Ideally, the software that you need has already been installed on your university-owned device. However, if there is something missing or if you need specialized software (or just have questions), submit a Software request.
Printing on campus
Your university-owned device allows you to print to any university Canon copier. No further setup needed!
Connect to the NCU Wi-Fi network
Your NCU-provided device is already configured to connect to the NCU network. No setup required!
Connecting your personal devices (NOTE: The university prohibits departments/employees from connecting IoT/consumer devices (speakers, digital assistants (e.g. Amazon Echo or Google Home, lighting (e.g. Phillips Hue), unmanaged smart TVs, and other smart devices to the university network.
