Leaving NCU as an Employee: What Happens to Your Account

Leaving your job at North Central University? Your NCU account and access to NCU systems end when your employment does. Here's what that means and what to do before your last day.

What happens

  • Your supervisor handles your departure with the Office of Innovation & Technology. You don't need to submit anything.
  • You lose access to your NCU email, Teams, OneDrive, Microsoft 365 apps, and other NCU systems.
  • Your work email and files stay with NCU. Your department decides what happens to them.
  • IT can't move your email or files to a personal account.

Before your last day

1

Save your personal files

Copy personal photos, documents, and contacts to your own device or account. Don't take university files or student information with you.

2

Hand off your work

Make sure work files are in your department's team, not only in your OneDrive, and tell your supervisor where things are. See Keep Department Files in Teams, Not Your Personal OneDrive.

3

Update your accounts

Change the email address on any personal accounts, subscriptions, or apps that use your NCU email.

4

Return your equipment

Return your NCU computer and other equipment as your supervisor directs.

Also a student? Your student account is separate and isn't affected.

Want Microsoft 365 after you leave? You can buy your own personal subscription from Microsoft.
