Changing Your University Password

Your North Central credentials are used for accessing university computers, email, applications, and networks. When your North Central password is lost or forgotten, in many instances you can reset your own password.  The password reset service will allow you to reset your password, recovery your account, and update your recovery information.

I know My Password

If you know your NCU password and wish to change it, you may do so by signing into https://myaccount.microsoft.com

Once you have signed in, select Change Password.

Enter your current NCU password in the first box, then enter and confirm a new password. The requirements for password are as follows:

  • At least 1 lowercase letter.
  • At least 1 Uppercase letter.
  • At least 1 Number or Symbol.
  • 12 Characters in length.
  • Name cannot be in password. 
  • No previous passwords can be used.

Once you are done click submit.

You will be presented with a message if your password was changed successfully.

 

I forgot my Password

If you forgot your password, you will be able to recover it using your recovery questions, email, and phone. To get started, visit https://myaccount.microsoft.comthen select Can’t access your account?

After selecting Can’t access your account? , enter your NCU email into the field and the Captcha

  • On the Next page make sure "I forgot my password is selected and click Next.

You can either choose   "Approve  a notification on my Authenticator app"  or "Enter a code from my authenticator"

if you choose :   "Approve  a notification on my Authenticator app" a two digits code will show on the screen enter the te number in the Authenticator app on your phone.

if you choose :   " "Enter a code from my authenticator"  on your phone open the Microsoft Authenticator app tap on your NCU email address and enter the six digit code into the Field.

After the code has been entered, you will be able to reset your password. The requirements for password are as follows:

  • At least 1 lowercase letter.
  • At least 1 Uppercase letter.
  • At least 1 Number or Symbol.
  • 12 Characters in length.
  • Name cannot be in password. 
  • No previous passwords can be used.

These requirements are in place to ensure you are creating a secure password to protect your NCU data.

Once you hit Finisgh, the password request will be processed.

If you are having issues resetting your password, submit an IT service request.
